The GIC All-Star Weekend Process (From TryOuts to Myrtle Beach)
The GIC All-Star Process
From Registration to Game Day
The GIC All-Star Experience is intentionally designed to be transparent, organized, and athlete-first—ensuring that every participant understands the journey from registration through selection and All-Star Weekend. Below is a step-by-step overview of the complete GIC All-Star process.
Step 1: Registration
Athletes begin their GIC journey by registering online for the GIC All-Star Program. During registration, families select their preferred region and provide required athlete information to ensure accurate placement and evaluation.
Once registered, athletes officially enter the GIC evaluation pipeline.
Step 1A: GIC Regional Tryout Waiver (Advance Notice)
For athletes who are aware of GIC ahead of time and know in advance that they will be unable to attend an in-person regional tryout, GIC offers a Regional Tryout Waiver option.
Athletes utilizing this pathway must:
- Submit the tryout waiver prior to the scheduled tryout date
- Pay the applicable registration fee
- Provide highlight footage and social media links for evaluation
Submitting a waiver in advance allows GIC and regional coaches to plan effectively while still offering deserving athletes a fair opportunity for evaluation.
Step 2: Regional Tryouts
Regional Tryouts are held nationwide and serve as the primary in-person evaluation opportunity for athletes.
At tryouts, athletes:
- Check in and have GIC jerseys tried on
- Have jersey and uniform sizes captured at check-in
- Participate in position-specific drills and competitive evaluations
- Are assessed by experienced coaches and staff on skill, effort, fundamentals, and coachability
In-person attendance is strongly encouraged, as it allows athletes to compete, connect with teammates, and showcase their abilities firsthand.
Step 3: Post-Regional Tryout Waiver (If Applicable)
If the tryout date for an athlete’s preferred region has already passed due to an emergency, late discovery of the program, or unforeseen circumstances, eligible athletes may still be considered by submitting a Post-Regional Tryout Waiver.
Approved athletes are added to the evaluation pool and reviewed based on submitted highlights and materials.
Step 4: Coach Evaluations & Athlete Pool
Following tryouts and waiver approvals, athletes are entered into the regional athlete pool.
Regional coaches evaluate athletes based on:
- Tryout performance or submitted highlights
- Athletic ability and position needs
- Team balance and competitive integrity
- Coachability, effort, and sportsmanship
Selections are made carefully to form strong, competitive All-Star teams.
Step 5: GIC All-Star Weekend Draft (Live Streamed)
Once selections are finalized, GIC hosts the GIC All-Star Weekend Draft, a signature experience streamed live and covered by prominent youth sports podcasters, with a focus on football.
Draft highlights include:
- A three-day live draft event
- Two regions announced each day
- Each selected athlete’s name called live during the broadcast
- Many families hosting draft parties and watching together virtually
This moment celebrates each athlete’s achievement in a professional, high-energy setting.
Step 5A: Official Invitation Distribution
Athletes who earn selection via the draft, will then receive an official GIC All-Star Invitation, confirming their place in the program.
Invitations include:
- Confirmation of selection
- Event expectations and commitments
- Important dates and next steps
At this point, the athlete has officially earned the title of GIC All-Star.
Step 6: Official Selection, Acceptance & Jersey Number Selection
Following the draft, athletes must officially accept their All-Star selection and complete registration no later than 2/1/26.
Important Notes:
- If acceptance and registration are not completed by 2/1/26, the athlete’s spot will be offered to the next eligible athlete on the selection list.
- Jersey number selection is first-come, first-served and based on order of completed registration.
- Athletes may select three jersey numbers:
- First choice
- Second choice
- Third choice
- If an athlete registers later in the process and all three selected numbers are unavailable, GIC leadership will assign the jersey number closest to the athlete’s first choice.
This process ensures fairness, organization, and timely roster finalization.
Step 7: Arrival & Check-In
Athletes and families arrive at the host city and participate in the GIC signature check-in experience, which includes:
- Credential pick-up
- Swag bags and official gear
- Event orientation and schedules
This marks the official start of the GIC All-Star Weekend.
Step 8: Practices, Events & Experiences
Throughout the week, athletes participate in:
- Team practices and walk-throughs
- Skill development and position work
- Team bonding and off-field experiences
- Media, exposure, and optional NIL opportunities (when applicable)
GIC focuses on both elite competition and meaningful athlete development.
Step 9: Game Day
Game Day is the culmination of the GIC All-Star journey.
Athletes compete in a professionally run All-Star game featuring:
- High-level competition
- Top-tier facilities
- Official All-Star uniforms and presentation
- A family-friendly, electric atmosphere
Athletes are celebrated for earning their place and representing their region.
Step 10: Recognition & GIC Legacy
Following the event, athletes receive:
- Official GIC recognition and credentials
- Photos, certificates, and memorabilia
- Inclusion in the GIC All-Star alumni community
For many athletes, GIC is not just an event—it’s a defining milestone and a lifelong memory.

From start to finish, GIC is committed to:
- Fair and transparent evaluation
- Elite, athlete-first experiences
